Lurganconary is the ideal walking break destination. With 100 acres of picturesque organic farmland, guests can explore the many enchanting nature trials, which are scattered through out the estate. For the keen hiker, the farm is located at the foot of the majestic Mourne Mountains and for those who enjoy a more relaxing stroll, Cranfield beach is within walking distance.

Mourne Country Park is 10-15 minute walk from the farm. It is part of the privately owned Kilmorey Estate, although Lurganconary have paid an annual fee to allow our guests access to the picturesque park. The club membership provides access to ramble in the glen and on the mountain in the park, which has a four-mile radius and includes an Equestrian Toll Ride thus bicycles are not permitted. Guests are asked to avoid the privately owned Mourne Park House and Kilkeel Golf Club areas. In order to gain access to the park, guests can simply request a key from our Housekeeping staff during their stay

The stunning South Down coast is a diverse landscape combining mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers and sandy beaches, something for every keen walkers taste.

The cottages provide each guest with a detailed walking map of the Mournes plus walking cards.

Also, on request, a pre-packed fresh organic lunch can be prepared for all our guests prior to setting off on a daily hike.

Our Local walking group the ‘ the Wee Binnian walkers’ regularly host a selection of walks throughout the year and are glad to welcome new editions to the team.
