Golf Breaks at Lurganconary Organic Farms

Just twenty minutes from the farm is one of Ireland’s oldest Golf courses, the famous Royal County Down Course, which is located in the seaside town of Newcastle.

Without question in the top 3 golf courses in Ireland, Royal County Down has two eighteen hole links courses, the Championship Course and the Annesley Links. It has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the Senior British Open, The Amateur Championship, the British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship, and the Curtis Cup, and it will be the venue for the 2007 Walker Cup on the 8th and 9th of September.

It should not be missed by the proficient golfer and can provide a memorable and rewarding experience for higher handicap golfers who bring patience and persistence to the course.

Located  just five minutes from the cottages is Kilkeel Golf Course. This 18 hole golf course, can be found 3 miles from Kilkeel town centre on the main Newry Road. The beautiful and historic Carlingford Lough flows alongside and frequent glimpses can be obtained through the many mature trees which separate the fairways.

The Par 72 Championship Course was designed by famous Dublin Golf Architect Eddie Hackett, who had designed 80 courses. His legacy has matured to one of the finest inland layouts in Ireland

Visitors are welcome to open club competitions on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Bookings are taken for Saturday afternoons and Sunday

Kilkeel Golf Club Open Competitions 2007

Warrenpoint golf club established in 1893, is an 18-Hole Parkland Course, situated in the Heart of County Down, six miles from the City of Newry, and is set in part of the luxurious Hall Estate which is home to the famous Narrow Water Castle. It is renowned for its natural beauty, surrounded by the Mourne Mountains on one side and Carlingford Lough on the other.The Championship Course which measures over 6000 yards in length, is ranked as one of the top Parkland Courses in Northern Ireland.

The Par of the Course is 71 and is made up of 4 Par 5 Holes, 5 Par 3 Holes and 9 Par Four Holes, and the Course record is 61 set up by Paddy Gribben in 1998.
